To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the death of the great composer Joseph Haydn, there are many wonderful events in Vienna and many other cities. In Venice, the Associazione Culturale MusicaVenezia is devoting a special concert to Haydn in their series “Musica a Casa Goldoni" on March 15 and 22 at 5.00 p.m.
The 8th Venice International Boat Show, the largest and most spectacular nautical show on the Adriatic sea, also known as the Festival of the Sea, will be held from March 14 - 22, 2009 at the Stazione Marittima, in the port of Venice. The meeting of two artists: Roberto Cappucci and Mariano Fortuny. The works of Capucci, architect and creator of sculpture-dresses, will be presented from 7th march until 4th may at Palazzo Fortuny, house-atelier of Mariano, painter, set designer, photographer and artist who modernized stage lighting.
Abstraction, at the Museo Correr in Venice from 5th june to 4th october, is part of the project Futurismo 100, an exhibition trilogy that will touch three important cities for the artistic movement (Venice, Milan and Rovereto) to celebrate his centenary.
A century after the publication of the Futurist Manifesto by the young poet Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, Peggy Guggenheim Collection celebrates the revolutionary movement that influenced the whole European artistic scene with the exhibition “Masterpieces of Futurism at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection” curated by Phlip Rylands, director of the venitian Museum, from 18 february and for all year long.
