The Accademia bridge was built during the Austrian dominium (1848-1866) as well the Scalzi bridge. Until then the only bridge spanning over the grand canal was the Rialto one.

This building can be found on the homonymous square, on the beginning of Strada Nova that goes from Rialto to the train station.
Inside the district of Cannaregio, just few minutes walking far from the Santa Lucia train station, you can find the beautiful church of San Geremia.
