The jewish Ghetto

The ghetto is in Sestiere of Cannaregio not far from Santa Lucia railway station, it was imposed by Serenissima Republic of Venice a residence for the Jews population in 1500.

Facing the grand Canal, the most important water way of the city, the building was commissioned by the Venetian merchant Marino Contarini between 1421 and 1440. the works were made by Contarini Himself and the building has more than one Architect. 

The school of Saint Johann the Evangelist is amongst the oldest of the city of Venice, it was founded in 1261,
