It is estimated that in 1600 were present in the Venetian Lagoon 10,000 boats taht today we call today "typical": from grand parade gondolas , common gondolas, caorline, sandoli. But with the advent of motor boats Venice has undergone a rapid change, and most of the typical boats disused, once they were used as firewood.
Pietro Bellotti, 18th century landscapist, Bernardo Bellotti's brother and nephew of Canaletto, with autonomous and personal styling elaborates the inventions of Canaletto, expanding the Venetian repertoire with many views of the most important cities of Europe. And in the 18th century museum Rezzonico in Venice, sponsored by project "archives of landscape painting", opens the exhibition dedicated to him.

A year after the artist’s passing, the Musei Civici di Venezia Foundation and the Vervoordt Foundation pay a homage to him with the ‘Artist’s Look’ exhibition, until the 24th of November at Palazzo Fortuny.
