Venetian fortresses in the Mediterranean

The exhibition is focused about the historical materials from the Mapping Cabinet and from the Correr Museum, with architectural samples that highlight the strategic importance of Corfù, Cyprus, Candia, the attention to the defensive network in Dalmatia and Albania and the projects for Morea.

One of the main works is a sixteenth century parchment, with the Corfu's fortification map and  a Zara map from the same period, until the '700's projects of Mathias von der Schulemburg for the fortification of Corfu.

The exhibition, curated by Camillo Tonini and Diana Cristante, is opened until the 22th of September with the same ticket as for Palazzo Ducale.
