The Casa dei Tre Oci in Venice, from 11 March to 23 October 2022, will host the largest exhibition dedicated to the Franco-Swiss photographer Sabine Weiss, the artist who has portrayed great personalities in art, literature and music such as Giacometti , Stravinsky, André Breton, Benjamin Britten and Jean Dubuffet.

Disappeared recently, last December 8, at the ripe old age of 97, Weiss, considered the last glimpse of French humanist photography, was the only post-war female photographer to have practiced this profession for so long and in all fields. photography - from reportage to portraits of artists, from fashion to street shots with particular attention to children's faces, to numerous trips around the world.

«When I photograph children, she becomes a child herself. There are absolutely no barriers between her, them and your camera, ”her husband Hugh Weiss said of her, and that's exactly how the whole world will continue to remember her; the woman who immortalized Parisian life, making it eternal.

The exhibition is curated by the French author Virginie Chardin, the exhibition is then promoted by the Venice Foundation, created by Marsilio Arte in collaboration with the Berggruen Institute, produced by the Sabine Weiss studio in Paris and by Laure Delloye-Augustins, with the support of Jeu de Paume and the international festival Les Rencontres de la photographie d'Arles.

Open from 11 to 19; closed on Tuesdays.
