2014 Venice Carnival
This year’s Carnival will be held from the 15th February to the 4th March. The theme is “Nature and Fantasy”: a way to celebrate the animal and vegetable world. Are you ready to wear a mask ? Carnival has always been a way to "break", when everybody is masked all the difference disappear, and we are all the same! Don’t miss the opportunity to participate to the party! Wear a mask and enjoy! And remember, you don’t need a 10.000 € mask, you can participate with everything you want, no limits!
Many events and show will take place in Venice during the entire period. The most important are the following: Friday 14th February: Prologue, Valentine’s Day Saturday 15th February: Opening of the Venetian Festival with a show, Cannaregio Sunday 16th February: Boat pageant – Grand Canal – Cannaregio Saturday 22nd February: The traditional "Festa delle Marie" Sunday 23rd February: Flight of the Angel Saturday 1st March: Float parade, Marghera Sunday 2nd March: Flight of the Eagle and Flight of the Donkey, Mestre Tuesday 4th March: Flight of the Lion and Prize Giving Ceremony for the "Maria" of the Carnival 2014 From 22nd February to 4th March: Best Masked Costume contest In San Marco Square there will be daily Parades and the Best Masked Costume contest (the spectators will vote!!!). The winners of the single days will participate to the final contest of the Sunday. Also, form 1pm to 3pm (every day) we will have a lunch time Music Entertainment always at Saint Mark's Square.
