XIIIth Edition of the Cultural Week
Italy is a country of extraordinary cultural and artistic heritage. It’s an inestimable treasure that we have had the pleasure to receive from our ancestors during centuries. This fortune results more important when you can enjoy it for free, from April 09th to 17th 2011, the Culture Week, XIIIth Edition, opens for free the doors of museums, archaeological area, archives and libraries, for a big event diffused in all the territory.
In all Italy, more than 2.500 appointments, between exhibitions, meetings, opening, didactic programs, guided visits, and concerts will make the experience even more special for citizens and visitors.
Then, thanks to the project “ Benvenuti al Museo” which is in collaboration with the MiBAC , almost 750 students from tecnical and professional institutes for the tourism, linguistic and hotel-management high schools, will be involved into some of the main civic museums to welcome the visitors, distribute informative material, assist you in educative activities.
“Italy – declares the Minister of the Cultural Activities, Giancarlo Galan – is the fruit of thousand-year stratification of many civilisations who developed themselves on our territory. Each of them with its own characters contributed to form the landscape, to built inhabitants centres, to organise the rural areas.
All of them had a determination role to forge our being Italian, enriching in the same moment our artistic heritage with civil and religious works and structures.
The culture week is a perfect occasion for all the Italian citizens to discover again this heritage in honour, this year, of the 150th birthday of the nation”.
