Project Glass Rooms - Fragile?
The project "The Glass Rooms" of the Giorgio Cini Foundation on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore continues with a new exhibition appointment: Fragile?
Glass Rooms initiative was established with the aim of enhancing the glass art of the Twentieth century emphasizing all the possible uses of this material.
Fragile?, edited by Mario Codognato, will remain open until July 28, 2013. There will be exposed 28 works by international artists brought together by using glass as an expression of their poetry.
The exhibition is in perfect harmony with the identity of Venice, whose handicraft is tied to double line with this material. It brings to light another aspect of glass, namely its use in the Visual Arts of the last two centuries. They are emphasized transparency, fragility and strength in a contest related to everyday reality.
Some of the most important artists exhibiting their works here are: Marcel Duchamp, Joseph Beuys, Luciano Fabro, Pipiloti Rist, Giovanni Anselmo. But these are just some of the artists!
