Until the 5th of September at the Jewish Museum of Venice, located in the Jewish Ghetto area, is presenting the personal exhibition of Dwora Fried: Outsider in a box.
Potent and provocative works, sometimes even ironic, that literally capture people, places and emotions under glass. The exhibition is composed of wooden showcases that recreate imaginary scripts of bewilderment, trap and isolation and that allow the viewer to share the artist's inner world.
This is certainly the most autobiographic work of the artist, born and raised in Vienna, expressing elements of her jewish/austrian/lesbian life, daughter of a Holocaust survivor.
