Irving Penn - Resonance

The Visual path illustrates a significant section of his works, emphasizing dialogue and connections between shots of different periods and with different subjects, retracing the themes dear to Penn.
It starts with the portraits of influential figures of 20th-century art scene, as Pablo Picasso and Marlene Dietrich, who are opposing to each other to photographs depicting people "normal" menial jobs, such as the chimney sweeper or the Peddler.
We then move on to the section dedicated to anthropological issues that collects images taken between the tribes of New Guinea and Morocco in the years ' 60 and ' 70.
Finally, the Still Life, where the photographer is confronted with different themes and styles, from still life to cigarette butts on the ground.
A landscape that says how modernity does not necessarily oppose the past and as absolute control of every phase of photography, from shooting to printing, let it go very close to the truth of things and living beings.
