THE IMAGE OF VENICE BETWEEN REALITY AND SYMBOL
The Gallerie dell’Accademia is located in the Dorsoduro district near the Accademia bridge and contains the most important Venetian art from 15th century to 18th century. It also hosts the city’s artistic culture produced from fourteenth to the nineteenth century.
To celebrate the 1600th anniversary of Venice, at the Gallerie dell’Accademia, you will have the opportunity to participate to one or more virtual exhibitions of the collections concerning Venice between reality and symbol. Thanks to the alternation of different artworks, you can have the opportunity to undestand the architectural, urban planning and the political choices of the Serenissima (Venetian Republic).
In addition, in the visitor’s welcome room, it is possible to admire the Trittico della Giustizia of Jacobello del Fiore, which was executed for the 1000th anniversary of the foundation of Venice in 1421, will be enhanced with an explanatory panel and better lighting.
