The glass tradition in Lagoon

The first attestations of the murrina technique for glass manufacturing date from the I century a.C. Afterwards completely forgotten, the technique was resumed by the Murano glassmakers in the XIX century, improving it with the glass blowing technique for extraordinary results, from both aesthetic and technical point of view.

 

The exhibition is a parallel trip from the two thousand years ago glass production and the contemporary one, creating a connection between two historical ages and between two locations: Altino, Venice ancestor, and Murano, the Island of the glass.
