BINNALE THEATER DANCE AND MUSIC

The 48th International Theater Festival will take place from 14 to 25 September: ATTO QUARTO: NASCONDI(NO) directed by Antonio Latella. An exhibition of Italian artists around a single theme, censorship. The Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement is awarded to Franco Visioli, sound designer, while the Silver Lion is awarded to Alessio Maria Romano, director and choreographer.

The 14th International Festival of Contemporary Dance will be held from 13 to 25 October, directed by Marie Chouinard who considers dance a sacred art to be practiced with absolute rigor. Two weeks of shows along with other meetings and films. The attributions of the Lions for Dance 2020: the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement to the Spanish-Swiss choreographer La Ribot and the Silver Lion to the choreographer Claudia Castellucci. The program will be enriched with meetings and conversations after the shows with great artists; and finally a cycle of feature and short film screenings at the Arsenale to broaden the view on the world of dance.

The 64th International Festival of Contemporary Music of the Venice Biennale entitled Incontri will take place in Venice from 25 September to 4 October. The Festival revolves around great personalities of music, their thinking and their musical practices, in dialogue with authors of the most stringent contemporaneity. The Lions of this edition see the career tribute to Luis de Pablo, a decisive composer in musical renewal in Spain, and the Silver Lion to Raphaël Cendo, founder of aesthetic movement, the "saturationism", which revolutionized the way of conceiving and writing music attracting many young composers. Again this year the Festival proposes a cycle dedicated to a single instrument, the piano.
