Veronese: Le Storie di Ester Rivelate gets red... wine!
Palazzo Grimani will host the paintings depicting the “Ripudio di
Vasti”, “Ester incoronata da Assuero” and the “Trionfo di Mardocheo”.
These paintings represent some scenes of the Old Testament Book of
Ester.
At the end of the exhibition the paintings will return permanently to
their original location, about twelve feet high in San Sebastiano’s
church. The exhibition is a unique opportunity for a closer look to
these artworks.
The exhibition edited by Giulio Manieri Elia, is promoted by the
Soprintendenza speciale per il Patrimonio Storico, Artistico ed
Etnoantropologico e per il Polo museale della città di Venezia e dei
comuni della Gronda lagunare in collaboration with the Patriarchal Curia
Venice and Save Venice Inc.
Wednesday at 5.30 pm visitors can take part in an original event: in the end of the guided visit, they will savour the “Rosso Veneziano” bitter and taste typical local products.
It’s a chance for you for a complete overview of the paintings and gets a different interpretation of the show.
