Silk and Velvet
These plissé dresses, become now legendary, are exposed together with
capes, cloaks, costumes and accessories, coming from American private
collections. This is how they come back to the laboratory where they
were made and confectioned – wrapped in soft “papier-soie” and put into
elegant boxes.
Today, thanks to Keith H. Mc Coy and the Raid Family’s generosity, it is
possible to admire these fine manufactures, resulted from the genius of
Mariano Fortuny and his wife Henriette Nigrin, and exposed at the first
floor of the Fortuny Palace.
