Architecture Biennale 2020
Venice returns to a great event much awaited the 17 International Exhibition of Architecture. It will hold in the institutional centers of the Gardens and of the Arsenal. from 23 May to 29 November 2020.
This year the exhibition is curated by’architect, professor and researcher Hashim Sarkis , Owner of Hashim Sarkis Studios (HSS), founded in 1998 and based in Boston and Beirut, from 2015 presides at the School of Architecture and Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has edited and written various books and articles on the history and theory of modern architecture.
The curator and the President of the Venice Biennale Paolo Baratta, have decided to name the new edition “How will we live together?”
Sarkisha explained the choice by stating that: “We need a new space contract. In a context marked by ever-widening political divergences and increasing economic inequalities, we ask architects to imagine spaces in which we can live generously together ,”together”as human beings who, despite increasing individuality, want to connect with each other and with other species in digital and real space;””together”as emerging communities that require equity, inclusion and spatial identity;”together”transcending political boundaries to imagine new associative geographies; and”together”as a planet facing crises that require global action so that we can continue to live”.
The Biennale of Architecture 2020 provides for national participation with exhibitions in the pavilions at the Giardini and Arsenale, as well as in the historic centre of Venice
