DIVINE Splendor of scene
Opens on August 30, 2014 until January 11, 2015 at the Franchetti gallery the exhibition DIVINE Splendor of the scene. The uniqueness of the monumental complex of the Ca'd’Oro offers now a particular sector of decorative arts: the "creative jewellry" from the collection of Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo.
The "Costume Jewelry" was born as jewelry designed specifically to adorn the haute couture creations, especially Chanel and Schiapparelli, and used later by Hollywood cinema scene clothes from the great star as Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich. The boom took place in the United States during the great depression of the 1920s: with the disappearance of luxury products, jewelers were experiencing, new techniques and a new design, creating a real new production sector. The exhibition presents around 350 samples built starting from the 30s and the ‘70s, ending with some objects made nowadays. Don't miss the appointment!
