The works, for the first time in Italy, belong to the period following Stalin’s passing, in which we assist at the birth of an unofficial art in the Soviet Union. Is a period in which coexist two different cultures; one official and and another one clandestine, that is developing in the kommunaki and that is characterized by the total absence of manifests, programs and declarations of principles coming from these groups.
Mockba Underground brings a testimony of this moment in the story of art, a pseudo avantgarde born from the anti-conformism in the search of a model able to provide an alternative to official stylistic language.
The exhibition is free entry.
