This initiative is considered the most important of the acivities that Regione del Veneto and the Foundation Giorgio Cini (through the Regional Committee) have organised to celebrate, after 350 years of his birth, the figure, the genius and the works of Sebastiano Ricci, ingenious precursor  of the Rococo in Italy and in the most important european centers.

Begun in december 2009 with the international meeting at the Foundation Giorgio Cini, "Sebastiano Ricci (1659-1734)", the celebration will continue during 2010 with other initiatives. The exhibition, on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, with as curator the Istitute of Art History of the Foundation Cini and directed by the Professor Giuseppe Pavanello.

The exhibition joins together some "bozzetti" (paintings, sculptures, drawings) able to represent an original aspect of the protean and spectacular genius of Sebastiano Ricci, at the base of this formal, technical, stylistic revolution tied to the news of the Rococo. In exhibition you will be able to compare bozzetti of other important artists of the early XVII century Venetian school as Antonio Pellegrini, the young Giambattista Tiepolo, Gaspare Pittoni, Antonio Molinari, Giambattista Piazzetta.
