logo-rinoceronteStarting from August 29th  to September 8th 2012 it will take place in Lido di Venezia the 69th edition of “Mostra Internazionale di Arte Cinematografica della Biennale di Venezia”.

Just like every year, this social event is going to promote the diffusion and knowledge of both national and international movies.

The number of the movies attending the festival this year have dramatically decreased compared with the past editions: in fact there will be just 18 movies trying to get the first prize, the Golden Lion.

We will have just 3 italian movies racing to win: “La Bella addormentata” directed by Marco Bellocchio, inspired by the story of Eluana Englaro; "Giorno Speciale" directed by Frencesca Comencini, based on the book "Il Cielo con un dito" by Claudio Bigagli; and "E’ stato il figlio" by Daniele Ciprì, talking about mafia and coming out directly from a bad district of Palermo.

The other 14 foreign movies attending the event, are directed by some of the best and well known directors in business: competing here in Venice there is also Terrence Malick with "To The Wonder "(featuring Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Olga Kurylenko) and Ulrich Seidl with" Paradise "; Takeshi Kitano with "Outrage Beyond "and Brian De Palma with" Passion "; Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodwoth  with " La cinquième saison ". Olivier Assayas is competing with "Après mai", Rama Burshtein with "Ha'Chalal" and Lemale Et Kirill Serebrennikov with "Izmena" (Betrayal), Xavier Giannoli "Superstar", Valeria Sarmiento "Linhas de Wellington", Kim Ki-Duk "Pieta", Ramin Baharani "At Any Price", with "Brilliant" Medoza Sinapupunan. There will be, at last, Harmony Korine with "Spring Breakers", starring James Franco and Rachel McAdams.

The 18th and last movie competing will be a last second surprise: nobody will know it until the beginning of the event.

The movie schedule will be available on August 20th.
