Uomo Vitruviano at Accademia Gallery

The Vitruvian Man, a Leonardo Da Vinci's opera, can be admired again after seven years!!!

It has been stored at Accademia Art Gallery in venice since 1822, when it has been bought by the Austrian Government from a private collectors (together with other 25 Leonardo's drawings). The drawning show the proportion of the man according to the standards of Vitruvio Pollio (a roman Architect, 1st Century a.C.).

The opera has been made in 1487, it's a reprentation of the proportions between the man and the geometry. Vitruvius tought a man's body had to be the source of proportions for the Classical orders of architecture.

This opera will be shown at Accademia Museum just until the 10th January 2010. If you are in Venice in this period don't loos the opportunity to take a look at the original one!!!
