Titian, a self-portrait. Autography problems in Titianesque graphics

Add to bookmark Add to favourities

At The Correr Museum you can admire a fascinating self-portrait found by a few years and attributed to Titian Vecellio. The drawing, on loan from a private collection, is one of the most original initiatives among the exhibitions organized in the Lagoon at this time, which allows the public to admire the representation of himself that the 'big old' wanted to consign to history.

Titian seems to have entrusted to a flimsy piece of paper the survival of his own earthly image by representing himself at the age of 80 when it was already acclaimed by emperors and popes and celebrated throughout Europe thanks to his works. The exhibition will be an important debate on the difficult field of Titianesque graphic production about that Thursday, June 5, 2014 is planning a study day open to the public.
