Safet Zec - The Power of the Painting - Museo Correr
The exhibition presents more than 100 works, oils, painting in tempera, pencils drawings, squirts and preparatory works, big paintings and small canvas - Some of them never exposed to the public and realised in the last ten years of activity of the Bosnian artist, dramatic and masterly character of the modern figurativism.
Endowed with a precocious and straordinary talent, Zec calls important ancestries as Tintoretto and Palma il Giovane or Caravaggio and Freud; it shows the linguistic security of the ancient masters and, together, the anxiety of looking for a lonely investigator and the craze of the experimentation.
The quatity and the quality of his production finished and not finished is incredible, but the transparency is just crystal-clear, the total control, individually shiny and rational.
Again, Safet Zec is perhaps the most important representative of a people's tragic thoughts.
