Also this year the Inevitable appointment with the historical regatta, which will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014! The race is the most important event in the calendar of the Venetian rowing races, made spectacular by the famous historical procession that precedes the race itself!
A parade of typical 16th century boats with gondoliers in costumes that bring the main characters of the glorious “serenissima” , one of the most powerful and influential maritime republics of the times: the doge and dogaressa, and the higher authority of the Venetian magistracy! The competitions are divided by age and type of vessel, the most famous is the gondolini regatta whizzing into the Grand Canal until a Palazzo Foscari.
