Water and food in Venice: stories about the lagoon and the city
From 26th September 2015 to 14th February 2016 there will be in Palazzo Ducale and doge’s apartment the exhibition “Water and food: stories about the lagoon and the city” linked with Exop’s theme “Feeding the planet. Energy for life”.
The exposition concerns how Venice in the past was able to take advantage of difficult place as the lagoon to support itself and develop economically and culturally thanks to the meeting with the East.
In addition to ancient naval maps, paintings, engravings and literary works there are also many digital supports created with the partnership of Venetian Iuav University that will realize an interactive, engaging and exciting tour.
The exhibition, organized by Donatella Calabi and divided in five thematic sections, gives the opportunity to discover an original aspect of Venice and its relationship with food in a travel between ancient documents, historic woks and multimedia world.
