The ancient Palazzo Mocenigo is situated in the "Santa Croce" area and belonged to a branch of the Mocenigo family, one of the most important and prestigious Venetian patrician dynasties.

It was the subject of an extraordinary conservation work that gave way to recover not only the main architectural and structural elements but also ancient furnishings and furniture, sumptuous frescoes, stuccoes and marble, precious floors and fixtures, so that the visitor can immerse in a magical and unique situation.

In the renovated spaces on the ground floor of the building, recovered with the support of  Mavive and inaugurated last June, plus the multimedial room and a fully equipped perfume Laboratory present a White Room bound to contemporary events and exhibitions.

It's right here in the White Room that until April 10, 2016 is proposed a charming and unique "journey" through the techniques of natural "tincture".

The proposal is about Natural fiber fabrics and Hanks (wool, silk, linen, cotton) that through a process of extraction of roots, bark, leaves, flowers, berries and even some insects take on different colors such as yellow, Orange, Brown, red, purple and blue, with nuances that make it unique and unrepeatable tissue unlike what we usually see from current industrial textile processes.

The exhibition “the chemistry of color” can be summarized as a polychrome palette of natural wonders, dye is one of the first technological activity of man and his evolution mirrors that of humanity itself.
