Among the shows: S'ARD – I danzatori delle stelle (Goldoni Theatre, 25 february 8.30 p.m.), Ploutos (Aurora Theatre, 25 february 8.0 p.m.), Winter Gardens (Piccolo Arsenale Theatre, 25 26 february 6.0 p.m.). In addition there will be the repeats of L'impresario delle Smirne (Malibran Theatre, until 1 march).

Many of the shows are the result of the International Theatre Workshop, a “construction site for art” where theatre masters and international directors could meet with students, young and future actors and all those interested in knowing the secrets of the art. The initiative offered an opportunity for an educational experience, the communication of knowledge and a direct rapport within a research project.

The Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement was presented to Irene Papas on 20th February 2009 at the Teatro Piccolo Arsenale in Venice, during the opening of the 40th International Theatre Festival.
