The exhibition “The Teatro del Mondo as a «singular building». A tribute to Aldo Rossi” is open from February 10th to July 31st at Ca' Giustinian, renovated headquarters of the Venice Biennale. Aldo Rossi's Teatro del Mondo was a floating theatre built 30 years ago and moored at the Punta della Dogana.
The exhibition titled “La Biennale di Venezia 1979-1980. The Teatro del Mondo “a singular building”. A tribute to Aldo Rossi”, curated by Maurizio Scaparro, will be installed in the Portego of Ca' Giustinian on the ground floor and will be inaugurated during the Carnival of Venice 2010.
Thirty years after its construction, it will re-examine the famous project by Aldo Rossi for the Teatro del Mondo, a floating theatre moored at the Punta della Dogana, built in 1979 for the exhibition Venezia e lo spazio scenico, used in 1980 by the Theatre Sector for the first edition of the Carnival of Venice and towed across the sea in the summer of 1980 for the Theatre Festival of Dubrovnik.
