Venice and its door on the mainland: the "Sestiere di Santa Croce"
Discover Cannaregio District

Giambattista Piranesi is mostly known to the public for his etchings, less for being also an architect, an antiquarian, a vedutista and a designer. This is the reason why the architect Michele De Lucchi has conceived the exhibition “The Arts of Giambattista Piranesi”, that celebrates the thousand of talents of the Venetian artist.
The exhibition takes place on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore and is
organized by the Giorgio Cini Foundation and Factum Arte, Adam Lowe’s
Madrid studio, with the support of Accenture as technological partner.
It is a means for the spectator to have a full understanding of
Piranesi’s work, his chaotic world and his extreme creativity.
The exhibition was opened to the public at the end of August and has
been extended until 9th January 2011 given its great success.
