Discover Cannaregio District

From the 12th December 2010 to the 27th March 2011 the Querini Stampalia Foundation will host the exhibition “L’incanto dell’oro bianco. Porcellane dal Museo Marton” (The Enchantment of White Gold. Porcelain from Marton Museum). The exhibition includes statues, cups and plates, tea, coffee and chocolate sets from the XVIII and XIX Century.
It is composed by more or less two hundred pieces of porcelain coming
from the major manufacturers in Europe, to give us a taste of the magic
coming from an ancient world.
The porcelain comes from the Marton Museum in Samobor, Croatia, that
exhibits a rich collection of paintings, furniture, silver objects,
clocks, Bohemian glass and XVIII and XIX Century porcelain. Most of
these objects come from the collection owned by the Queen of Wien,
spectacular objects belonging to the Baroque period.
The exhibition is enriched by thirty pieces coming from Russia, some of them belonging to the Duchess Catherine Pavlovna.
