Venice and its door on the mainland: the "Sestiere di Santa Croce"
Discover Cannaregio District

The 11th December 2010 is the opening date of the exhibition “L’avventura del vetro” (The Adventure of Glass) at the Correr Museum, an event that takes inspiration and completes the exhibition that is just finished in Trento. It is a homage to the big exhibition that took place in 1982 and saw the participation of the Ducal Palace together with the Correr Museum and the Glass Museum.
This exhibition, besides the homage it gives to the most famous art in
Venice, celebrates the 150th birthday of the Correr Museum, opened in
1861 thanks to Abate Zanetti.
The exhibition is organized in four sections in a chronological order – archaeological glass, from XV to XVIII century, XIX century, XX century. They explore the history of Venetian glass from the first time it came to Venice to the contemporary design. The exhibition will stay open till the 25th April 2011.
