Venice and its door on the mainland: the "Sestiere di Santa Croce"
Discover Cannaregio District

Nuala Goodman is an Irish artist from Dublin with great creative skills. She can put together design, fashion and painting to transform into works of art those pieces of furniture that every woman loves.
Exhibited at the Fortuny Museum from the 4th September 2010 to the 9th
January 2011 we can find some of her most famous creations, among which
pieces of furniture, design objects and carpets made out of her
characteristic technique, the so called “floccatura”. Nuala Goodman has
indeed made this technique her own one, a way of working on surfaces to
make them look like velvet by using different types of fabric. This
creates special effects and fantasies and it is finished by hand.
What we can find in front of us from the moment we enter the museum is a
real collection of colorful installations. They are played on colours
and materials and want to create a perfect harmony between these two,
just to allow the spectator to experience the every work of art
completely. Everything is accompanied by the artist’s sketches, drawings
and projects.
Curated by Rossella Rossi, the exhibition was made possible thanks to the support of Moroso S.p.A and Clerici Tessuto.
Catalogue Moroso, Udine.
