Venice and its door on the mainland: the "Sestiere di Santa Croce"

Born from the extraordinary idea of Antonio Colleoni, mayor of Murano in 1861, and the abbot Vincenzo Zanetti, the Museo del Vetro of Murano celebrates its 150th anniversary.
In order to demonstrate the uniqueness of execution of this glasses jewels and the value of its creator, the exhibition will present more than 200 works of art that have made the history of the island as well as some unknown creation from Biennale’s.
The event is organized in collaboration with Confartigianato Venezia and the Seguso Gianni company, that has contributed to the restoration of the crystal chandelier in the room on the north side of Museum.
Every Tuesday and Thursday until June, GLASS IN ACTION gives you the possibility to admire the art of glass-makers. Guided Tours with a final glassworking demonstration are possible also in other days if you are in a groups of 20 people at least.
